In case it's too difficult for you, there is an option for an easier mode in the settings. This makes the time window between attacks more lenient and general combat more forgiving in general. Additionally, moving your mouse outside the text box will unfocus you from the box.

If you're having problems with the ending boss, there is a password. It's not spelled out explicitly, and it's something of a puzzle. Pay very good attention to the notes around the facility ;)
